Preamble of the editors: "The ARC 2018 is the eighth conference of the 'Master of Applied Research' program. This conference takes place on July 10, 2018 at the Deggendorf Institute of Technology. During the ARC 2018 conference, the students of the program are able to present their research project results as papers. The research papers are selected for an oral or a poster presentation. The student's participation in the conference gives them the opportunity to share their research with a wide variety of peers and experts. The feedback they receive here allows them to reassess their work, gain motivation and promote their personal and academic progress. The 'Master of Applied Research' program gives its students the opportunity to work in depth on a research topic for a period of three semesters, culminating in a master of science degree. They participate as members of a research team and are guided by a professor responsible for the research project ..."
